April 9, 2004 - vs. Sweet Tang
Final Score
2 - 8
Not bad for the first game, with an all new team. We got the feel for the field, and think we'll pull it all together for the next game. Seems there is still a building rivalry with In Vino, and with any luck, will get everything in line, so we can take them down a peg... or two.

April 16, 2004 - vs. Flying Hellfish
Final Score
2 - 6
Looks like we might have found out a system that works. With a little moving around, I think our defense will be something to fear. We kept the Hellfish to a 2 - 2 tie, until an error occurred allowing the final few runs finish the game. We may have lost, but we've seen what needs to be fixed.

Final Score

Another loss puts us at 0 - 3. We need to work on our field communication. Things picked up towards the end of the game, but it was too late for the immenent comeback that we were getting ready for. The team will be moved around some more for the next game, to hopefully tie up some loose spots on the field.
With that aside, some of the biggest moments of the game came from our female players. Mindy gave us some amazing bunts, and two outstanding catches. A fill-in player, that I don't know the name of, also had some great bunts, and one hell of a catch in right center.
We have the defense down pretty much, so after some additional moves, it should be solid. Something we all need to focus on is kicking, and keeping the ball down. Once we have this down, we should be a team to look out for.

April 30, 2004 - vs. Pink Ladeez
Final Score
9 - 3
Our first win, and it wasn't just any regular win, we rocked the field. We had a numerous amount of amazing plays. I think we have finally found our nitch, and have realized what we need to do to win, aside from just having fun.
The oufield was pretty much unstoppable with Mindy, Ryan, Greg L, Katie, KJ & Brian. As far as the infield was, forget about it... Ben, Greg & Amy had that locked down, with the addition of first comer Andy, it seemed as if nothing could get through. Heather was fantastic with the pitching last night, constantly watching for the bunts, which there weren't many of, but we were prepared if there were.
To think that we did all of this without Chris, although he will be a welcome addition to the field when he gets back for next weeks game against In Vino. Chris knows there plays, there strengths and there weaknesses.
As far as the line-up goes, it will not be changing...
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

May 28, 2004 - vs. Houdini (6:00pm) & vs. In Vino Veritas (8:00pm)
Game 1
Final
Score
0 - 3

Game 2
Final
Score
6 - 8

GAME 1

This game seemed to be more of a practice run for two teams that hadn't played in almost a solid month. Both teams were deadlocked with a score of "0 - 0", until about the fifth inning or so. That's when Houdini snapped back into it, and started the scoring process. Unfortunately, we did not have the same luck, and went scoreless for the first time all season.... BUT, we made it up in game 2!

GAME 2

Nevermind the last game against Vino, where by the third inning, it was "10 - 0", in favor of In Vino Veritas. This game would be much different. We kept the game, much like game 1, to an even "0 - 0", until about the fourth inning. We were down for a while until a few amazing, well-placed kicks, allowed us to close the gap a little more. This, along with Chris' Teabag Homerun/RKI, that brought in Ryan, brought the game within 2 points, which is where it stayed until the end. We may have lost the game, but the important part is, we had fun, and we showed Vino, never to doubt us!

June 4, 2004 - vs. Phatballs
Final Score
4 - 13

OK, yeah we lost another game, seems to fit with the rest of our debut season. The difference now? We know what needs to be done, we know the field, and we know who belongs where, and who to count on, and who not too. After a game with some errors and bad ump calls, two involving me on second base alone, how could we win? We were given some false hope, when Sweet Tang not only beat, but annilihated the same team just minutes prior to our game. With one game left, we'll see if we can score another win, and if not, we did accomplish one thing, and it is more important than any record...

WE ALL HAD FUN!
